Progress Overview
This week our group settled on Zach Rosenthal’s project for measuring whisker behavior in mice. We read 6 scientific articles relating to current whisker motion studies that Zach emailed us from last week. We also spoke with Zach to discuss further design specifications and brainstormed preliminary possibilities for device development. After speaking, Zach sent us additional papers on mouse stroke studies and pictures of possible head fixation devices.
These are possible directions we may want to go with device development:

These are possible directions we may want to go with device development:
- Head-fixation device with camera pointing laterally upwards to detect whisker motion on both left and right side of mouse.
- Camera ring where mouse can freely move.
Tasks To Do
- Read and summarize additional stroke studies.
- Meet to outline Preliminary Report and designate research responsibilities for each member.
- Look into other potential behaviors currently used in mice for stroke studies.
